Zero to Colo: vCloud Director in the Lab

In this session, VMware's Senior Cloud Infrastructure Evangelist talks about how learning more about vCloud Director helped re-shape his lab and re-shapped his ideas around vSphere design. Mike offers up some handy vCloud Director gotchas to avoid, tips on building your own vCloud HomeLab, and looks forward to what the HomeLab of the future might look like.


 

Mike Laverick is a former VMware instructor with 20 years of experience in technologies such as Novell, Windows, Citrix and VMware. Since 2003, has been involved with the VMware community. Mike is a VMware forum moderator and member of the London VMware User Group. He was also the man behind the virtualization website and blog RTFM Education, where he published free guides and utilities for VMware customers. Mike received the VMware vExpert award in 2009, 2010, 2011 and 2012  

In 2009, Mike joined TechTarget as a contributor after selling his RTFM Education site. He found the time to run a weekly podcast called the Chinwag and the Vendorwag.He speaks regularly at larger regional events organized by the Global VMUG in the US, EMEA and APAC. He's published several books on VMware Virtual Infrastructure 3, vSphere4, Site Recovery Manager and View.

In 2012, Mike joined VMware, Inc as their Senior Cloud Infrastructure Evangelist
